This documentary looks at the aftermath of one of the worst natural disasters
in recorded history. The film vividly documents the effects of the Tsunami
of 2004 on the most devastated area of Banda Aceh, Indonesia. The piece
follows Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund Ambassador, Cary Elwes (The Princess
Bride, Saw) as he visits the areas of destruction and meets with the children
who were affected by the disaster. Made just three months after the event,
it is a stunning reminder of the awesome power of nature and a look at the
compassion with which aid organizations respond to tragedies such as this
one. It was made in conjunction with UNICEF and the Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund and was edited by Paul Freedman, who won a Peabody® Award for his documentary, Rwanda: Do Scars Ever Fade?
